Orla Twomey is Chief Executive of the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI). She has held this role since January 2016. Prior to that, she served in a number of roles in the ASAI including that of the Assistant Chief Executive between 2004 and 2015.
Orla leads corporate strategy and policy, executing multi-faceted programmes at national and European level, particularly those associated with exponential growth in digital marketing. The ASAI is very active within a number of sectors, including influencer marketing, and continues its engagement in a bid to ensure the highest possible standards of advertising in Ireland, regardless of the medium involved.
In conjunction to her role with ASAI, Orla is also a Vice-Chairwoman of the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) and a member of the EASA Executive Committee and Board. She has served as Chair of the EASA’s Self-Regulatory Committee and has served on varied Working Groups including Gambling and Online Behavioural Advertising. She was also a member of the Board of Ringsend and District Credit Union between 2012 and 2015.
Orla has a first class honours Bachelor of Business Studies (Hons) degree, with a specialisation in Marketing, from the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), awarded by the National University of Ireland.
