William Ryan

Will Ryan is the Editor & Publisher of the Limerick Post newspaper since 2010, where he has led the publication to become the largest circulating regional newspaper in the country. In addition to his work at the paper, Will is a founding member of Free Media Ireland, an organisation dedicated to promoting free and independent news media in Ireland. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Will also played a key role in supporting local businesses through the “Lean on Me” campaign, which he co-founded with a group of local volunteers, including Miriam O’Connor, Joe Brooks, Seanie Ryan, Sean Golden, Pat Fitzgerald, and John Moran. The initiative allowed customers to buy online vouchers from their favorite businesses, providing cash flow to the businesses while the economy was locked down. Over its two years of operation, Lean on Me raised over €100,000 for 222 local businesses in Limerick, Clare, and Galway.
